OpenAI chief Sam Altman fired and hired in one weekend
Sam Altman, the co-founder and former CEO of OpenAI, was fired by the board in a surprise move on Friday. Over the weekend, attempts to oust the board and reinstate himself were dashed — leaving Microsoft in a unique position to snatch up his tech talent. On Friday, it was announced that Altman had apparently lost the confidence of OpenAI’s board for “not consistently candid” communications.
